Statement

This decade has been crazy! From alternative facts, two wars, a pandemic, rising violence and tumultuous politicking. Never before has so much been at stake for women’s rights in America, while at the same time anti-semitism and Islamophobia is on the rise and gun-related homicides seem sadly unsolvable by a government hopelessly locked in gridlock. These are the uncertain times we find ourselves living through.

As artists this chaos occupies our thoughts and it’s mirrored in our artwork, unconsciously or consciously. Ironically, a major trend many artists have embraced is adapting older craft methods in their work like hand sewing, quilting,  or darkroom and unique process photography and rejected newer technological advances such as AI and new media.  Artists Of the ZeitGeist aren’t limited or defined by any one process.

For our inaugural exhibition, ZeitGeist Curatorial will present a handful of the talented, hard working and dedicated artists who have caught our eye recently.  The art world is a large and multi leveled community of creators throughout the Country, many of whom are making incredible artwork but who for whatever reason have not gotten the recognition we think they deserve. We therefore seek here to  place their art within the ZeitGeist.
